The new type organic fertilizer granulator (also known as a stirring-tooth granulator) is a high-efficiency wet granulation machine specifically designed for organic and bio-bacterial fertilizers. It utilizes a high-speed rotating rotor equipped with stirring teeth to generate powerful mechanical shear and centrifugal forces, causing powdered materials within the cylinder to tumble vigorously, undergo compression, and agglomerate into spherical granules.

How the New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulator Works

The new organic fertilizer granulator utilizes high-speed mechanical agitation and the resulting aerodynamic forces to continuously mix, granulate, spheroidize, and densify fine powdery materials within the machine, thereby achieving granulation.

Core Operational Process

Feeding and Mixing: Powdered material is continuously fed into the machine via a metering feeder.

Shearing and Compression: High-speed stirring blades (with adjustable speed) forcefully shear and mix the material, ensuring uniform distribution of the binder.

Rolling Granulation: Driven by centrifugal force, the material rolls along the inner wall of the cylinder; fine particles continuously adhere to one another and grow in size (the "snowball effect").

Screening and Discharge: Formed granules are separated via a screen, while undersized or non-compliant particles are returned for re-granulation.

Overview of the Structure of the New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulator

The stirring-tooth granulator is composed of five core components: the motor, the transmission (gearbox), the rotor, the cylinder body, and the frame.

Motor

Utilizes a standard electric motor characterized by powerful output, energy efficiency, reliable quality, and the ability to handle overload operations.

Transmission (Gearbox)

Constructed using special materials and processed with specialized techniques; it offers high load-bearing capacity, smooth operation, and durable components.

Rotor

Consists of three main parts: ① the shaft, ② the stirring teeth, and ③ the stirring tooth heads. The shaft is divided into three sections: the mixing section, the granulation section, and the polishing section.

The main shaft is made of special materials; the stirring teeth are hard, wear-resistant, and adjustable in length; and the tooth heads feature alloy steel tips.

Cylinder Body

Comprises three main sections: the feed/mixing section, the granulation section, and the polishing section.

The casing is made of thickened seamless steel pipe, ensuring sturdiness, durability, and resistance to deformation.

Frame

Features a stable base design that supports the smooth operation of the entire machine.

Key Application Scenarios for the New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulator

The stirring-tooth granulator is particularly well-suited for granulating lightweight, fine-powdered materials; generally, the material particle size should be finer than 300 mesh prior to granulation. Typical applications fall into four major categories:

Livestock and Poultry Manure

Chicken, pig, cattle, sheep, and duck manure; these can be granulated directly after fermentation and decomposition, yielding granules with high sphericity and structural strength.

Agricultural Waste

Materials such as straw, rice husks, peanut shells, corn cobs, and cottonseed hulls can be granulated after pulverization.

Industrial Organic Waste Residues

Industrial by-products such as spent mushroom substrate, distillery grains, herbal medicine residues, furfural residue, cassava residue, and sugarcane bagasse.

Urban Organic Matter

Urban sludge, food waste, organic matter recovered from municipal solid waste, humic acid, amino acids, peat, and turf peat.

Summary of Applicability: The stirring-tooth granulator is widely used for granulating organic fertilizers and bio-bacterial fertilizers. It is especially suitable for materials with high fiber content (>18%) and high moisture content (25%-40%). It is not suitable for materials with high inorganic content (such as pure NPK fertilizers) or non-cohesive materials like sand and gravel.

How to Select the Right New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulator

1. Granulation Performance and Efficiency

Granulation rate >90%: Opt for models featuring a multi-layer design with spiral stirring teeth.

Granule diameter should be adjustable within the 2–8 mm range.

Select based on production scale; typical single-unit output ranges from 2 to 8 tons per hour.

2. Raw Material Adaptability

Suitable for high-moisture materials (35%-45% moisture content): Eliminates the need for a separate drying stage.

Compatible with coarse fibrous materials (straw, mushroom residue) and lightweight powders (humic acid, clay).

Choose equipment equipped with variable frequency speed control and replaceable stirring teeth/liners.

3. Functional Expandability

Supports integration with coating machines to enhance fertilizer quality.

Dust removal systems can be installed to meet environmental compliance standards.

Evaluate the manufacturer's process expertise, the brands of core components, and the speed of after-sales service response.

Advantages of Huaqiang‘s New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulator

Zhengzhou Huaqiang Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd. is a specialized manufacturer of granulators, with products that excel in granulation rates, raw material adaptability, and granule appearance.

Granulation Rate Exceeding 95%

Granules are uniform in size and highly spherical, with virtually no hollow granules or fines/waste.

Suitable for Dry and Wet Materials; High Adaptability

Semi-dry/wet fermented materials can be fed directly into the machine for granulation without the need for extensive drying.

Effectively solves industry challenges associated with organic materials that are fibrous, prone to clumping, and difficult to shape.

Automation; Stable Production and Enhanced Efficiency

Features a fully automated control system and can be integrated with conveyors, mixers, and screening machines to form a complete automated production line.

Achieves a granulation rate of over 95% with minimal material recycling waste.

Superior Granule Quality

Granules are round, plump, compact, and uniform, with moderate hardness; they withstand stacking and transport while resisting caking and dusting.

Fully complies with market standards for commercial organic fertilizers.
